Father Ken Frisch, Pastor

Father Ken Frisch is the Pastor at St. Joseph Parish, and at our linked Parish St. Francis de Sales. He has been an ordained priest in the Diocese of Madison for 40 years.

Before coming to St. Joseph parish, he served 17 years at St. Anthony and Phillip Parish in Highland, WI and St. Thomas Parish in Montfort, WI.

Miss Barbara Wills, Principal

This is Miss Wills 33rd year at St. Joseph School. She was a teacher for 24 of those years and has served as the school's principal for the last seven years.

She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where she earned a BS in Elementary Education. In 2014, Miss Wills earned her Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Along with her teaching responsibilities, Miss Wills has earned both F.O.R.E.M. and S.O.W.D.I. certification in religious education through the Diocese of Madison.

Miss Melomi Waller, 5th and 6th grade teacher

Miss Melomi Waller is the 5th and 6th grade teacher at St. Joseph School.  This is her fourth year as a teacher.  Melomi is originally from the Dickeyville and Potosi area.  She is currently living in Hazel Green, WI.  

Melomi earned her bachelor degree at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in May of 2015.  Miss Waller majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood. She completed her Early Childhood student teaching in Aldine, Texas and her Elementary student teaching at Saint Clement Catholic School and Winskill Elementary School both located in Lancaster, WI.  

Miss Waller has been working with children since her sophomore year of high school through tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, and babysitting.  She worked as a certified nursing assistant for two years while in college and also as a teacher's assistant at the Children's Center at UWP.  

In her free time, Miss Waller likes to read; listen and dance to music; cook and bake; and hang out with her family and friends.

Jessica Schneider, 3rd and 4th Grade Teacher

This is Ms. Schneider's third year of teaching at St. Joseph School.  She graduated from Clarke University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  She was born, raised, and lives in Dubuque, Iowa.  Prior to coming to St. Joseph School, she was a paraeducator in the Dubuque Community School District, working in the Preschool room.

When not teaching, Ms. Schneider directs the Youth Hand Chime Choir through her church.  This will be her fourth year directing these students, who are in junior high.  Ms. Schneider also enjoys playing tennis, singing at Mass, ice skating, and watching football!  Ms. Schneider has a younger brother and a family who enjoys doing may things together. 

Ms. Schneider is especially excited to be teaching at St. Joseph School because of being in a faith filled environment.  It is rewarding watching the students and staff being able to live out their faith.  Miss Schneider can be reached at

Mr. Zachary Wedige, 1st and 2nd grade teacher

Mr. Zachary Wedige is the first and second grade teacher at St. Joseph School.  This is his second year as a teacher at St. Joseph School.  Zach lives in his hometown of Shullsburg, WI. 

Zach earned his bachelor degree at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2017.  Zach majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education.  He completed his Early Childhood student teaching at the Children's Center on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus and he completed his student teaching in Kindergarten and first grade at Scales Mound Schools.

When not teaching, Mr. Wedige coaches A-Girls Basketball at St. Joseph School and is the Varsity Reserve Girls Basketball coach at Southwestern Schools.  Zach has been coaching various levels of basketball for about four years.  When Mr. Wedige has free time from coaching and teaching he likes to watch the Badgers, Packers, and the Brewers.  He also likes to spend time with family and friends.

        Mrs. Kristal Heller, 4K and Kindergarten teacher

Mrs. Kristal Heller is the 4K & Kindergarten teacher at St. Joseph School.  This is her second year as a teacher at St Josephs School.  Kristal  is originally from Mauston, WI.  and now resides in Cuba City with her husband, Ben and 5 children: Kylie, Breanna, Brady, Bralyn & Bailey.

Kristal earned her bachelor degree at the University of Wisconsin-Baraboo/Sauk in 2000.  Kristal majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematic at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She completed her Elementary student teaching at Baraboo Middle School and East Elementary School both located in Baraboo, WI. in May of 2004.   

In her free time, Mrs. Heller likes to spend time with her family, enjoy the outdoors, watch the Packers, Badgers & Brewers, cooking and baking.

Mrs. Diane DeMuth, 3 and 4K teacher

Mrs. Demuth began with St. Joseph School in 2014 as the three year old preschool teacher. She earned her degree at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore.

Mrs. Demuth was a teacher/ director at Calico Farm Preschool in Hazel Green for six years and lead the preschool/ childcare at Sinsinawa Mound for three years. She also offered in-home childcare.

Diane's favorite part of teaching is witnessing the students true honesty in telling how it is and those warm, friendly smiles she receives daily. She is looking forward to her students knowing the love of God and to have positive self esteem.

Diane is a resident of Hazel Green and married to her husband Jim. Together they have three married daughters Tammy, Angie and Sara, and six grandchildren.
